About

Kristy Pruitt is the author of the Work at Home Scam Blog. She started this blog to help other parents who want to stay home with their children avoid work at home scams and find legitimate opportunities.

Kristy began her quest to work from home in 2003. She sent for information from various companies, only to be scammed repeatedly and lose money that she couldn’t afford to lose. When her husband lost his job, they were evicted, and she gave up on working from home.

By 2006 they were on their feet again. Kristy and her husband both had full-time jobs. But Kristy wanted to be able to stay at home with their daughter, so she once again started looking for ways to make money online, this time a little wiser. She bought a website, started another one, and tried various other ways to make money. She is currently working part-time, but hopes to eventually be able to work exclusively from home.

This blog was started in hopes that it would help other parents find ways to make money from home without the expensive trial-and-error that Kristy had to go through. It does not list companies that scam, nor does it provide a list of legitimate companies. What it does do is provide the tools and information you need to evaluate opportunities before taking them, and resources to turn to if you do get scammed.
